Low metabolic burden and chronic disease prevention
The gut-brain axis regulates emotions and the nervous system
MOS is a mannan oligosaccharide derived from the enzymatic hydrolysis of konjac glucomannan (KGM), with a degree of polymerization between 2 and 10. Its enzymatic cleavage specifically exposes mannose residues, resulting in non-reducing ends primarily composed of mannose.
As a unique prebiotic, MOS enhances gut health and microbiota by preventing and alleviating intestinal inflammation, constipation, and diarrhea. It aids in obesity management by reducing body weight, total cholesterol (TC), and triglycerides (TG). MOS also contributes to diabetes control by lowering plasma glucose, HbA1c, and insulin resistance, and supports prolonged lifespan.
Additionally, MOS improves immunity through suppression of type I diabetes, alleviation of allergy symptoms, and competition with pathogenic bacteria for host binding sites. It also exhibits antioxidant properties.
