Extracted from Non-GMO corncobs, safe and sustainable source
Highly selective in promoting bifidobacteria, with significant effects on B. longum, B. infantis, and B. adolescentis
Low sweetness, heat resistance, suitable for multiple processes
Applicable to health supplements, functional foods, dairy products, and nutrition formulations
Xylo-oligosaccharide (XOS) is a mixture of x2-x7 oligosaccharides extracted from natural corncobs. It possesses low sweetness (40%-50% of sucrose), excellent taste blendability, high stability as well as acid and heat resistance. Its ultra-low water activity prevents drying in synbiotic products and extends shelf life.
With an ultra-low effective dosage of only 0.7g per day, XOS is suitable for low-volume formulations such as tablets, capsules, and gummies. Studies confirm that XOS significantly increases Bifidobacterium abundance, enhances the proportion of beneficial bacteria, and activates intestinal microecology without altering the fundamental flora structure.
XOS demonstrates exceptional processing stability, showing no significant change at pH 2.5-11 when heated at 100℃ for 1 hour, and remains stable at pH 4 when heated at 180℃ for 30 minutes. With human digestibility of merely 0.4%, it reaches the distal intestine intact to fully stimulate probiotics. The main components, xylobiose and xylotriose, are also non-digestible and functionally active.
